Introduction:

It seems ashame to me that the gardens immediately infront of the Lord Street Hotel and the old Grand Casino building, if they fix the fountain and put some suitable lighting up, wouldn't it be better using that area of garden for tables and chairs for the benefit of Punch Tarmes and The Lord Street Hotel to use on a permanent basis instead of blocking a service street with benches and artificial grass.

Under the right deal with the council the cost of maintaining the gardens could be paid by the users i.e. the businesses using the space.
Also if by chance the Grand Casino building was used for something suitable in the future they will be able to use the same gardens.
